The Southwest leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), under the able leadership of Alhaji Suraj Owolabi, has congratulated the Governor of Anambra State and National Leader of APGA, His Excellency Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on the occasion of his 65th birthday.

In a congratulatory message made available to the press, Alhaji Suraj Owolabi described Governor Soludo as a visionary leader, astute economist, and dedicated patriot whose life and career have been defined by excellence, integrity, and service to the nation. 

He lauded the Governor’s unwavering commitment to public welfare, reforms, and the transformation of Anambra State into a model for good governance and development.

The Southwest APGA Chairman acknowledged Governor Soludo’s exceptional leadership, noting that his tenure as Governor has brought visible improvements in infrastructure, education, health, and youth empowerment in Anambra State. He emphasized that Soludo's policies and programs reflect the true spirit of APGA’s ideology—progressive, people-oriented, and inclusive.

“On behalf of all members and stakeholders of APGA in the Southwest, I heartily congratulate our esteemed National Leader, His Excellency Prof. Charles Soludo, on reaching this remarkable milestone of 65 years.

His intellectual brilliance and political foresight continue to inspire a new generation of leaders within and outside our party,” Owolabi stated.

The message further highlighted Soludo’s enduring legacy as a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, whose tenure was marked by bold reforms and economic stabilization measures that repositioned Nigeria’s banking sector for sustainability and growth. 

It noted that his contributions to national development have left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s economic history.

According to Owolabi, Prof. Soludo’s journey has been one of resilience, excellence, and service. From academia to public service and now politics, he has remained consistent in his pursuit of a better society. “It is rare to find such a blend of academic prowess, technocratic expertise, and grassroots political connection in a single individual,” he said.

The Southwest APGA also used the occasion to reaffirm its loyalty and solidarity with Governor Soludo, pledging continued support for his efforts to strengthen the party’s national structures and expand its influence across all geopolitical zones. 

The party described his leadership as a unifying force that gives hope to the rank and file of APGA nationwide.

Alhaji Suraj Owolabi urged party members and Nigerians at large to emulate the virtues of Governor Soludo—discipline, innovation, and dedication to national service—as the country strives to overcome its current socio-economic challenges.
